The Thing
This work began with found objects, bringing once unrelated pieces into relation through balance, proportion and tension until their associations began to suggest something new.
Once assembled, I placed the object within an environment where light, shadow, color, scale and framing shift the way it is read. There is a particular beauty in seeing something made from ordinary fragments take on another presence.
This way of looking remains foundational to my work. It continues to shape how I notice what is already there, understand relationships between familiar elements and allow meaning to emerge through composition.
